Inca Digital launches the 'Inca Digital Excellence Awards

Company celebrates its 10 years at the forefront of digital printer development by celebrating the best of Inca digital print

Inca Digital celebrates its 10th birthday this year with the launch of the Inca Digital Excellence Awards (IDEAs for short) to celebrate the creative and stunning effects and products produced using Inca printers. Hundreds of companies have invested in Inca Eagle, Columbia, Spyder and Onset printers since 2000 and are producing high quality display products that are in demand around the world.

"Ten years is a landmark which could not have been achieved without the support of our innovative customers," says Linda Bell, Inca Digital CEO. "We're proud of what we've achieved, and to mark the anniversary we're giving our customers the chance to feel proud too by winning an IDEA".

To showcase what companies and their Inca digital presses can produce there are five IDEA categories chosen to highlight the potential of digital print through a wealth of applications in a host of industries: POS/POP, Display Graphics, Décor, Decoration/Speciality Products and Special Effects. A panel of independent judges will be looking for high-quality graphics that exceed expectations for creativity and delivery.

Inca's customers will be all be personally invited to enter the Awards by submitting Production jobs in the market between 1st February 2009 and 31st January 2010 (Closing date for entries is 30th April 2010).

Winners of each category will receive a VIP trip to FESPA Munich 2010 (22nd-26th June) to receive their Award at Inca's 10th Birthday Party and discover the Overall IDEA Trophy Winner.

Colourgen Becomes Mutoh Master Reseller

Mutoh debuts at Sign and Digital UK 2010 - Stand D22

With soft signage being one of the fastest growing areas of the wide format printing industry, Colourgen has announced Master Reseller status for Mutoh’s range of printers and sign cutting plotters. Colourgen will also be supporting Mutoh as it makes it first appearance at Sign and Digital UK.

As part of the relationship with Mutoh, Colourgen is now a Master Reseller for the Zephyr 65 roll-to-roll flatbed UV printer, the dye-sublimation range and the direct to textile printer range. Colourgen will also sell the Unifixer heat transfer system and the Kona range of cutting plotters. The products will be shown by Mutoh and Colourgen at Sign and Digital UK and Colourgen will subsequently house a Zephyr 65, Viper Extreme 65, Unifixer and Kona at its demonstration facility in Maidenhead.

Jeff Biggs, Managing Director of Colourgen, comments, “We have been watching the soft signage market very closely and have seen high levels of take up in other European countries. As the gap in cost to produce soft signage and textile printing between local and off-shore continues to narrow, the potential for this technology in the UK is very good. We intend to bring our knowledge and infrastructure of wide format to this new and emerging market to ensure the trail-blazers get the possible products, service and Colourgen support.”

Kris Berghs, Area Sales Manager of Mutoh, comments, “We are very pleased to appoint Colourgen as a Master Reseller of our products and we are very confident that this will help us bring our soft signage and textile printing solutions to the wider UK market. Colourgen’s name is synonymous with quality and support and we are confident that customers will benefit hugely from working with them. We are also delighted to welcome their support at Sign UK, where their knowledge and experience in the sign market will be invaluable.”

Mutoh printing, transfer and cutting systems are available immediately from Colourgen.

Visit Stand C42 and get the Royal Treatment from Eurostand Display

Essex-based, trade-only display specialist Eurostand Display is rolling out the red carpet to receive visitors on stand C42 at Sign & Digital UK 2010 and offering hospitality the firm says is ‘that little bit more refined’.

With its tongue firmly in its corporate cheek, Eurostand Display says that the regal theme plays to the idea that quality and refinement are the very hallmarks of its customer service.

“As you’d expect from a long-established trade-only specialist well known to the UK display market, we treat our customers like royalty,” says National Account Manager Sam Mooney. “Come and hobnob with us at the NEC and find out what makes Eurostand Display’s service just that bit more special. We promise to make your visit a singularly genteel affair."

The firm’s wide range of solutions includes pop-ups, roll-ups, literature presenters, eco-friendly bamboo displays and elegant modular products. But the jewel in the crown this year is its new DL Plus graphic display system.

“We’re really rather proud of it,” says Mooney. “Like all our products, the DL Plus is guaranteed for five years. As well as looking clean, professional and smart, it’s also cleverly adaptable in all kinds of situations. Used individually, the single roll ups assert a commanding presence. But the system really flourishes its true colours when these individual units are linked together to form a visually-imposing display that’s stylish, elegant and, dare we say it, just that little more… upmarket.”

Fujifilm showcases its widest range of solutions ever at FESPA 2010

Fujifilm today announces that it is due to showcase its widest range of screen and inkjet solutions for producing wide and super-wide format print at FESPA 2010, Hall B1 Stand 220.  The combination of an impressive line-up of printers (all fuelled by Fujifilm Sericol's award-winning Uvijet inks) together with a new system to be announced in the coming weeks designed to standardise screen and inkjet production, and the euromedia range mean that the Fujifilm stand is set to be a 'must-see' at FESPA 2010.

i) Superwide Outdoor Applications

Demonstrating how printers can take advantage of the emerging market for clip-frame billboard banners printed on woven polyethylene (PE) and other superwide format display graphics, the recently-launched Uvistar superwide format printer will be shown on the stand as the most flexible, cost efficient printer in its class.

The Uvistar is available in four different models, producing high quality output at throughput speeds in excess of 300m2/hour. A proven multi-roll system with a highly intuitive user interface, it provides fast and efficient start up with low media wastage, and has the ability to handle rolls of varying widths up to five metres. In combination with the new vibrant Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet QK inks, the printers can produce jobs on a very wide range of flexible media, including PE, with no curing or ink starvation issues and with excellent inter-coat lay down for backlit and solid prints.

ii) Acuity Advance HS

Fujifilm will be showcasing the new Acuity Advance HS, on show for the first time in continental Europe. The Acuity produces near-photographic quality images at speeds of up to 65m2/hr, and is an excellent mid-range flatbed for high-quality POP and signage.

iii) The Onset Effect

Visitors to the stand can also see the newest model in the high performance Inca Onset series, which has quickly established itself as a popular choice for productivity. The Onset S20 is a UV curing inkjet flatbed printer that can print edge to edge onto rigid and flexible substrates at production speeds of 250m2/hr and 50 full bed sheets (3.14 x 1.6m), with the ability to process substrates as thick as 50mm. It also boasts a gloss level control for great versatility in its finish. These revolutionary printers have represented a major change in business dynamics for the industry, as digital flatbed becomes an economical method of producing high-impact visual images.

For mid range versatility, the Spyder V will also be on show with the Uvijet Ultratone ink system. Based on the design of the popular Spyder 320 platform, the Spyder V has a production speed of up to 93m2/hr onto a wide range of flexible and rigid substrates of up to 30mm thick. The Ultratone ink system increases the colour gamut, producing improved colour reproduction and more accurate spot colours.

iv) euromedia

Completing the line-up is Fujifilm's euromedia brand, which provides a dedicated offering for wide format printing. This well known brand of media, software, inks and support comprises hundreds of roll media products for all water-based, solvent-based and UV-printing and laminating applications. These could range from low cost posters, indoor and outdoor banners, flags, exhibition graphics, signmaking and vehicle wraps, to backlit and art prints, and be fulfilled with standard media to novel and high-value products for the more specialist applications.

Keith Harley, european marketing director at Fujifilm Sericol, comments, "We are very excited to have a brand new system on stand which we will be announcing more details of in the next few weeks, along with the first showing in continental Europe of the Acuity Advance HS." He adds, "In addition, the new applications that are now possible using Uvistar are very exciting for the industry as a whole, and combined with our other wide format offerings and ink expertise, we are looking forward to demonstrating the new opportunities printers can now take advantage of."
