Ipex 2010 Exhibitors and Distributors Set to Find Perfect Match with Ipex Connect

The Ipex organisers have launched Ipex Connect, a sophisticated and free online service on the Ipex website, designed to link up exhibitors interested in expanding their business globally with suitable agents and distributors. Based on the hugely successful Agent & Distributor Matchmaking Scheme in 2006, Ipex Connect provides a comprehensive list of active dealers and exhibitors in specific locations, allowing all users from around the world to get in touch with distributors and suppliers that they may otherwise not know about.

In addition to searching for companies, users can create a comprehensive profile of themselves on Ipex Connect with a picture, then tag their favourite content, contacts and search results. Once they have located a potential business partner, they can instantly communicate with the target company using a secure, built-in email facility. From the beginning of April, they will also be able to make appointments to meet with suitable companies at Ipex 2010. Once exhibitors and agents have finalised their diaries, Ipex Connect will enable them to create and print a PDF of the personalised itinerary within seconds or access it via an iPhone at the show.

Nick Craig Waller, Marketing Director of Ipex 2010 says, “This matchmaking scheme was hugely popular in 2006 so we’ve enhanced the service using the global reach and power of the Ipex website. So far, over 1,750 agents and distributors have already signed up for Ipex 2010.

“Ipex Connect helps achieve two crucial goals: encouraging attendance from agents and distributors from every corner of the world as well as maximising business opportunites for our exhibitors. Selecting the right distributor is absolutely crucial for growing a business successfully in countries where they currently don’t operate in. Ipex Connect will ensure that exhibitors find the best match for their company and by arranging an agreed time and place to meet at Ipex prior to the show, both parties can maximise their time at the event.”

To start using Ipex Connect, distributors and agents will need to register for Ipex 2010 at www.ipex.org/register. They will subsequently receive an email with login details to access the service at www.ipex.org/connect. Exhibitors at Ipex 2010 can join Ipex Connect via the Exhibitor Zone at www.ipex.org/ezone. FESPA 2010: Biggest Show Yet Mirrors Market Growth, Change & Optimism

FESPA 2010 will be the biggest and most comprehensive FESPA exhibition ever, mirroring the wide format market’s consistent growth, and its optimism for the future. Filling five halls at Messe Munich, the show is clearly ‘zoned’ into areas focussing on digital, screen and textile.

Digital

The FESPA 2010 floor plan reflects the market’s rapid progress towards digital production, with three halls at the show now dedicated to digital technologies. This compares with just one digital hall at FESPA 2005, the first year that digital impacted visibly on the show’s exhibitor profile. The Digital zone of FESPA 2010 will be far and away the largest event for digital wide format production in Europe this year, and nearly 30% larger than FESPA’s own European FESPA Digital 2009 event, which wowed exhibitors and visitors in Amsterdam. The major digital wide format players are recognising FESPA 2010 as the market-leading show in the sector, many with their most substantial presence to date, and most using this show as a platform for global product launches.

Screen

The screen printing area of the show is smaller than in 2005, highlighting the evolution of screen printing as a solution for niche industrial and higher volume printing applications in the face of the rapid migration to digital. Despite this market shift, the Screen zone of FESPA 2010 will be the biggest and best representation of screen printing worldwide for the next three years, and FESPA events continue to be a magnet for screen printers from around the globe. By presenting screen and digital side by side under one roof, FESPA aims to show visitors how successful print service providers can blend digital and analogue processes to deliver a broader scope of products for customers and optimise productivity and profitability.

Textile

The trend towards textile substrates for a range of sign, graphics and industrial applications will be in evidence throughout all zones of FESPA 2010. In particular, the dedicated Textile zone - under the new FESPA Fabric banner – harnesses the size and success of the diverse garment exhibits at FESPA 2007 within a focused event.

Concentrating these exhibitors within an entire dedicated hall, FESPA Fabric will shine the spotlight on the latest developments and trends in garment printing and embellishment, straddling both digital and screen processes (see launch press release, 5th February 2010).

FESPA Managing Director for Events, Frazer Chesterman comments: “2010 is expected to be a landmark year for many businesses. For entrepreneurs who guided their organisations through the economic crisis, the direction they adopt for the latter half of 2010 and beyond could define their future success. FESPA’s own Economy Survey conveys cautious optimism, focused towards the second half of 2010. What’s more, our own and third-party research underlines the importance of prudent investment in digital technology as a survival factor for businesses competing in a changed economy. Against this backdrop, FESPA 2010 will be a springboard for further change in our community in the decade ahead.”

Chesterman concludes: “The conditions are right for the FESPA community to cast off the negativity of the last 18 months, pursuing new techniques, applications and business models to take their businesses to the next level. Process and efficiency are necessary, but the best wide format printers thrive on bright ideas and a ‘can-do’ attitude to solving their customers’ problems. Our industry is colourful, creative, exciting, interactive, challenging and thought-provoking. As a reflection of the community it serves, FESPA 2010 will be all that and more.”

FESPA is showcase for Xaar-enabled printers

Inkjet will be the predominant print technology at FESPA Munich in June (22-26 June), with many companies showing a range of Xaar-enabled printers. These include machines featuring roll-to-roll and flat-bed printing, and variable-data, single-pass printing on a variety of flexible and rigid materials and objects.

Xaar's status as FESPA Technology Partner is endorsed by the industry's broad implementation of Xaar's selection of binary and greyscale printheads, each matched to a specific application. FESPA highlights include the latest developments from EFI, Eurotech, Grapo, MTL, Mutoh, Neolt and ITW Morlock. Several new solvent, UV and single-pass printers, featuring Xaar 760, Xaar 1001 and Xaar Proton printheads, will be exhibited at the show.

On its booth (Hall B2 Stand 475) Xaar will show its full range of printheads, including the European debut of the Xaar Proton 60. The robust and cost-effective Xaar Proton 60 has been designed to deliver wide coverage and increased colour density, coupled with high productivity for outdoor graphics production. It complements the Xaar Proton 35 printhead which delivers a smaller drop size suitable for higher resolution graphics. Both wide-swathe Xaar Proton printheads offer features that allow easy integration.

Xaar printhead innovation and OEM printer innovation go hand-in-hand. Many ground-breaking printers based on Xaar technology have been introduced in recent years, and today Xaar-enabled machines are used in applications as disparate as large format graphics, narrow-web label and package-printing, and ceramics printing.

Xaar's open ink policy ensures manufacturers and end users are able to meet the needs of a diverse range of markets and applications. Xaar works with many of the world's leading ink companies to develop a wide range of inks that are matched to Xaar's printheads and optimized for performance. The Xaar Approved Ink Partners at FESPA include Agfa, Chimigraf, Hilord, Nazdar, Sensient, Fujifilm Sericol, Staedtler and Inx Digital.

We look forward to welcoming you on our booth in Hall B2 Stand 475. For more information on FESPA 2010 please visit www.fespa.com
