Brett Newman Earns Promotion to the Board of Roland DG UK

 

Roland DG UK is pleased to announce that Brett Newman has been appointed to its Board of Directors and will hold the role of Technical Director. Brett assumes his new role with immediate effect and will be responsible for dealer and customer relations in the sign and graphics market, all technical services including RolandCare maintenance support, and product management and development.

Roland DG’s Managing Director, Jerry Davies said, “Brett has been instrumental in Roland DG's success and his knowledge, enthusiasm and ability is widely known and respected within the Company and the industry. This promotion not only recognises Brett’s past achievements, but that he outwardly represents Roland’s values, and has skills that the business requires to maintain its continued growth.”

Brett made his first impact on the industry almost fifteen years ago when a Roland Dealership relocated to the village where Brett lived at the time. He joined Roland in 2001 and progressed quickly from his role as an Engineer to Print Product Manager. More recently his role has been Head of Product Management.

Brett said, “I am absolutely delighted to be promoted to the Board. Roland has always been a reflection of its people, its products and its passion for the markets and customers it serves. I feel very proud and privileged to have been part of Roland’s growth, and I look forward to making my contribution to its future and its continuing success in my new Role."

 

FUJIFILM Europe GmbH appoints Ryuta Masui as senior vice-president, Graphic Systems Business Domain

FUJIFILM Europe GmbH would today like to announce the following personnel changes to the management structure of the Graphic Systems Business Domain in Europe:

Ryuta Masui has been appointed as senior vice-president, Graphic Systems Business Domain, FUJIFILM Europe from 1st January 2010. He replaces the previous senior vice-president of the Graphic Systems Business Domain, Naohiro Fujitani, who has a new assignment as successor of Mr. Hiroaki Tada, who is the president of FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA at Stamford, CT.

This is the second assignment for Ryuta Masui within FUJIFILM Europe, having spent the last two years at FUJIFILM Sericol Ltd in Broadstairs, Kent. He has over 15 years experience within the Graphic Systems Business Domain, including a period spent at Fujifilm’s Headquarters in Tokyo as manager of international marketing.

Shigehiro Nakajima, president of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, said: “I have very much appreciated Mr.Fujitani’s strong leadership, which has contributed to the enhancement of the Graphics Systems Business Domain and its current shape and organisation. Drytac Europe Ltd Appoint Additional Area Sales Manager to Cope with Expanding Sales in the North

Drytac Europe, leading global manufacturer of mounting adhesives, laminating films, finishing products and equipment is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Broad as a new member of the Area Sales Team for the North.

Steve Broad will join Drytac as Technical Area Sales Manager, and with his base in Wigan he will be covering all areas from North Wales through to Cleethorpes and all points North of this.  Paul Tomlinson who previously carried out the role of Area Sales Manager for the North will now cover the newly created Midlands Territory.

Following an educational and early professional background in Electronic Engineering, Steve first joined the Graphics industry in 1995 as a field engineer repairing print finishing and wide format laminating equipment. With his sound technical knowledge & expertise, Steve’s role quickly moved towards helping & supporting the sales representatives to overcome problems of applications and processes, which naturally progressed into a career in technical sales.

Amongst a list of many other achievements, Steve has also set up and managed his own company, Print Finishing Solutions, maintaining and supporting Borough Council print rooms across the Northwest as well supplying a range of finishing equipment to the graphics industry.

With his excellent technical awareness and deep understanding of the graphics and print markets, Steve is certainly well placed to give Drytac’s customers peace of mind, as well as sound advice on both products and applications.

Avery Dennison Appoints European Segment Manager For Fleet And Architecture Business

Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Products Division has appointed John Coppens to the newly-created post of Segment Manager, Europe, Fleet and Architecture, based in the European divisional headquarters in Hazerswoude, The Netherlands.

Mr Coppens will focus on developing a dialogue with end user companies and graphic design and corporate identity consultants.   In this assignment he will work collaboratively with the divisional sales, product management, and marketing teams, in both a regional and global context.

Mr Coppens joins Avery Dennison from General Electric Company’s Tip Trailer Leasing Division, where, as Consultative Sales Manager for Europe, his customers were high-level executives in the major trailer fleet companies.   Earlier he held positions of strategic responsibility within various divisions of General Electric, and at Emerson Electric Company. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree on business economics from Rotterdam Business University.

Willis Reese joins INX Digital team

INX Digital International Co. announced the appointment of Willis Reese as global director of business development. A 25-year veteran of the printing and ink industry, he will report to INX Digital USA president Ken Kisner and work closely with the marketing group.

Mr. Reese joins INX Digital after spending the last three years with Hexion Specialty Chemical as the global business director for UV curable inks and coatings. His move to the digital inkjet industry at Hexion followed four years as global accounts manager at Noveon Inc. Mr. Reese began his ink experience with Sun Chemical in 1984, working in a variety of jobs that included technical sales and service, product development, global sales and marketing and global business management until joining Noveon, Inc.

“Willis will be managing various industrial opportunities, including relationships with OEMs and print head manufacturers,” said Mr. Kisner. “He also will be working on our new “EVOLVE project, helping INX and Sakata customers transition from traditional to digital printing. We have plenty of important developments ahead of us and we are confident Willis Reese will help us achieve our goals.”

New European Technical Support Specialist at Avery Dennison

Avery Dennison has appointed Horst Rothenberger to the post of Technical Support Specialist, Offset and Screen Printing, for the Graphics and  Reflective Products division in Europe.

Mr Rothenberger joined Avery Dennison in 2006 at the Schwelm, Germany, manufacturing facility, where he served as process engineer, production manager, and quality engineer.   In his new role, he is responsible for supporting both customers of the Graphics and Reflective Products sales team on technical matters, taking over from Joop van Lammeren, who retires this year after 37 years with the company.

Having worked in commercial offset printing and in bookbinding, qualified as Diplom-Ingenieur Drucktechnik at the Media University in Stuttgart, and worked as a freelance journalist for print-related business magazines, Mr Rothenberger is well-positioned for his new assignment.   He will continue to be based in Schwelm.
