Diatec launch HP Latex Demo Days for Irish Market

HP Designjet L25500 latex printer

Diatec, the Dublin based HP reseller, have recently announced a series of Demo Days where Irish print professionals can see the latest HP Designjet L25500 latex printer in action.

David Harpur of Diatec tells us "Customers have been asking for a versatile, cost-effective alternative to eco-solvent-based printing solutions for the production of a wider range of outdoor large-format and indoor applications, while reducing the impact of printing on the environment. The HP Designjet L25500 Printer can deliver on these needs. It offers easy, low-maintenance printing of a wider range of applications - from outdoor banners, bus shelters and vehicle wraps to indoor point-of-purchase displays, exhibition graphics and interior décor like wall murals and fabrics - than is possible with eco-solvent or traditional water-based printing alone."

Interested parties are invited to register their interest online at www.diatec.ie/L25500/demo/ where they can request a Demo time to suit.

For those users of solvent ink technology that are as yet not ready to upgrade, Diatec are currently running an ink promotion that promises savings of up to 40% for users of Roland, Mimaki or Mutoh print systems. Users converting to Diatec alternative ink solutions will also receive a free iPod Touch.

Xaar demonstrates the excellence of its digital inkjet printheads for quality label printing at Labelexpo Asia

XAAR printhead

Xaar demonstrates the excellence of its digital inkjet printheads for quality label printing at Labelexpo Asia this week (1-4 December, Shanghai New Exhibition Center).

Beijing Du Gao Gu Tu Digital Technology Co Ltd, a leading supplier of label production technologies, is showing the new ARES210 label printer featuring 12 Xaar 1001 printheads producing high quality, variable labels in Hall E2/Stand H18.

Xaar, as the leader in digital inkjet technology, had a major impact at Labelexpo Europe 09 recently with ten OEMs demonstrating Xaar-enabled printers that clearly showed the reliability and flexibility of inkjet and its impact on the digital printing sector. These included Atlantic Zeiser, Delta Industrial Services, Durst, EFI, FFEI/Nilpeter and Stork.

Xaar-enabled digital label printers open up new possibilities for single-pass, full colour direct printing onto paper, film, metal and many other materials, producing photo-realistic print on labels, promotional items, ID cards and packaging. Some printers achieve close to 50m/minute, resulting in substantially improved return on investment for the label printer. The native print resolution is 360dpi, however, when using the greyscale capabilities of the 1001 printhead, an apparent resolution of over 1000dpi can be achieved.

The industrial strength Xaar 1001 variable drop (greyscale) printhead is the technology that makes these applications possible. It is revolutionary in its design and ensures high reliability and productivity through its XaarDOT™ (Xaar Drop Optimisation Technology) capability and its TF Technology™ (re-circulating ink system) design. XaarDOT™ gives users the ability to select drop size or resolution depending on the application, image quality and substrate.

“The growth of digital label printers is driven by the fact that 65 per cent of all four colour jobs produced today are less than 10,000 labels”, says Wang Wei, Managing Director, Xaar Asia Pacific. “Time to market is a critical factor for brand owners and digital production is a fast and flexible process. Digital labels are addressing an area of the market that is impossible to address through the conventional process and Xaar is quickly becoming the printhead of choice in the market.”

Trade up to a Canon iPF8100 for ink saving benefits

Canon imagePROGRAF 8100

RGBuk, the Wokingham based reseller has announced today the launch of a brand new trade-in programme to run until 23rd Dec 09.  The promotion offers customers the chance to upgrade to a new Canon 12 colour 44” Image PROGRAF iPF8100.  The printer is priced at £3495 for customers wishing to trade an existing HP, Epson or any other large format inkjet printer,  24” or bigger.

Wokingham based RGBuk, has launched a unique trade-in offer for customers interested in upgrading their existing large format printer to a cost effective Canon iPF8100.  The promotion provides customers with an excellent opportunity to upgrade an old printer for £500 off the price of the already heavily discounted Canon iPF8100.  The printer was promoted on Canon’s “Star Buy” scheme in October this year. The iPF8100 originally priced at £5495 including a stand, was discounted along with the iPF8000s to attract customers to move to the 44” printers.  The RGBuk trade-in offer allows customers an additional £2000 saving per printer.  The original price is expected to be re-instated once the ‘Star Buy’ promotions finishes this December.

Ben Randall, MD, RGBuk; said “The trade-in programme comes at a time when print costs have been higher in the past 6 months than ever before.  Epson has suffered with increased ink cost, as have HP subjected to the variable Euro exchange rate. So whilst in house printing is on the increase the cost of the average print job, has in many cases, also increased.  The Canon 12 colour print technology has an overall cost advantage compared to the competitors and has been independently proven by BLI to use 31% less ink than Epson.”

The RGBuk offer is expected to run until 23rd  December 09, or whilst stocks last.
