Specialist large-format printer Colour Graphics has revealed its decision to begin using DuPont Artistri XITE S2500 Series Ink, on the back of a recommendation from Quality Print Services (QPS), has led to significant improvements in the quality of printed work.
Colour Graphics provides a wide range of printed products – all of which are printed, finished and assembled in house – for the public and trade sectors, specialising in the signage, exhibition and outdoor events markets.
Much of this work is produced using an EFI Reggiani dye sublimation printer, but the company had run into a number of issues with the non-OEM ink it was previously running on the machine. This led to a series of printhead failures over a six-month period.
As a long-term customer of QPS, Colour Graphics reached out to the knowledgeable team at the wide-format print specialist for advice. QPS Managing Director Chris Bailey recommended the DuPont Artistri XITE S2500 Series Ink as the best solution.
“We have worked with QPS for over 20 years, and I trust Chris Bailey’s advice and judgement. We were also confident with the brand DuPont and its reputation for quality inks and support,” Colour Graphics’ Director James Birch said.
“I sought advice from Chris at QPS, who is probably the most knowledgeable ink person I know. They supplied me with printed samples and the offer of full support and head warranty and thus the decision was made to move across to the new inks.”
Such has been the impact of the switch to DuPont Artistri XITE S2500 Series Ink that James said the company has seen significant improvements to output, reporting fantastic colour accuracy and consistency across printed work, with the EFI Reggiani printer having taken very well to the new inks.
The switchover process was also straightforward. As James from Colour Graphics concludes: “QPS and DuPont were on-site within a few days of the ink landing in the UK. The changeover was performed in a morning, and we were running print again just after lunch!”
