A sackful of sign and display work by Leek Signs will transform London's Hyde Park this festive season, printed on a new Roland VG-640 running Nazdar inks, supplied by Quality Print Services (QPS).
Staffordshire-based Leek Signs & Graphics Ltd celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, having evolved from a sign maker relying on vinyl-cut lettering to investing in the latest digital printing equipment. While Leek Signs offers signage, printing and design services to a wide range of customers, the family business also does a great deal of work in the theme park and public events sector.
This includes the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland event, for which Leek Signs has produced bespoke flat-board and 3D displays and banners for the past three years. This year, much of this Christmassy array was printed on a Roland TrueVIS VG-640 wide-format inkjet printer/cutter set up in seven-colour ink configuration running Nazdar 204 series inks. It was delivered by QPS, an authorised dealer of Roland printers and Nazdar inks, this autumn.
"The new printer has replaced a Roland SOLJET Pro III XC-540 printer/cutter installed in 2011," comments Mat Burrows, Director, Leek Signs. "It was still a good machine but Chris Bailey at QPS proposed a great offer for an ex-demo TrueVIS VG-640 with Nazdar inks so it was the right time to upgrade.
"We are really impressed with the new TrueVIS VG-640. The quality of print is superb and the colours are nice and vibrant!"
Nazdar 204 Series digital imaging inks have been developed specifically for use in Roland TrueVIS SG and VG series systems using OEM inks. As a plug-and-play formulation with exceptional chemical and colour compatibility, 204 Series ink cartridges can replace OEM inks as they run out with no need to flush. This saves on consumables costs and downtime, with no loss of quality.
Mat Burrows explains that Leek Signs has been using Nazdar bulk ink systems on its Roland printers for several years, on the recommendation of Chris Bailey at QPS.
He says: "We are happy with Nazdar inks; they are economical and produce great colours. We've never had any problems using these alternative inks."
The new combination of Roland printer/cutter and Nazdar 204 inks will help Leek Signs continue to meet demand in its current fields with potential to expand, says the business director.
