Women in Sign and Graphics UK, an industry initiative that aims to inspire, encourage and promote women in the industry, is taking its inaugural event virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally scheduled to take place at The Sign Group in Leeds, the event will feature the same inspirational speakers and the same open discussion on crucial industry topics in a virtual setting on December 3rd from 12 – 2.30pm.
The event will feature founders Sarah Winterbottom, Business Development Manager, Josero, and Izabella Ivanovici, Specialist Recruitment Consultant, INV Recruitment interviewing speakers Sophie Kirby from The Printing Charity, Ian Hoole from The Sign Group, Sam Armstrong of Make It Happen, Marcus Timson of FM Future, and Karis Copp of Karis Copp Media, before opening up the discussion to all event attendees, where those participating will have an opportunity to share opinions and experiences, and put any questions to the founders and speakers.
Sarah Winterbottom: “We are very much looking forward to our first Women in Sign and Graphics event and hope everyone will be able to join us. It is a shame that we can’t do this in person, but bring on 2021 as we now have vaccines in sight. It will be great to see everyone on Zoom and listen to the community’s thoughts and ideas on how we can increase diversity in this sector. We have some great speakers joining us so it should be a lively session!”
Izabella Ivanovici: “We are so excited to have our first event on the 3rd of December! We've had to change into a virtual format as we can't meet people face to face just yet, but once we have the opportunity to do so we are really looking forward to meeting everyone. We have a great panel who are joining our conversation about gender balance in the industry which will be followed by an open Zoom session where we want to interact with our group members and hear their thoughts and feedback about the event.”
