The Ghent Workgroup proudly welcomes new member Prinovis.

Ghent Workgroup continues to bring experts from around the world together to build specifications and best practices for publishing, print, and packaging workflows as it welcomes new member Prinovis, the largest house within the Bertelsmann Printing Group.

The Ghent Workgroup is an international organization made up of graphic arts users, associations & developers building best practices for publishing and packaging workflows. The resulting recommendations and specifications make it easy for increasing numbers of professionals around the world to successfully create, process, and exchange graphic arts files for numerous applications.

Prinovis, the largest house within the Bertelsmann Printing Group

Based in Hamburg, Prinovis is one of the largest print service provider in Europe comprising four print houses across Germany and Great Britain as well as a representative office in Paris. They offer customers a wide range of solutions – from concept, to gravure printing and rotary offset printing, through to processing and logistics with the possibility to use over 1600 different types of paper.

By joining the Ghent Workgroup, Prinovis is able to keep up-to-date with PDF standards and can be at the forefront of what the future brings. What can the customer do to obtain the optimum print result from the service provider with his input data? What kind of assistance can the print service provider offer so that the customer benefits in the best possible way with minimal workload on both sides?

Alexander Strobel, Software Engineer Prepress at Prinovis says: "In June 2018, I attended the Technical Meeting of the Ghent Workgroup hosted by DALIM in Kehl and listened fascinated to the words of William Li (Kodak). He talked about using CxF/X-4 within PDF 2.0. I really wanted to learn more about it and many other developments so that we can provide our clients with the best possible advice. Direct dialogue with software manufacturers, other printers and service providers provides valuable experience and helps to consider customer needs. We are looking forward to the next meeting in Berlin."
