swissQprints Nyala 4 ticks all the boxes for King & McGaw

The new Nyala 4 installation supports King & McGaw's strong commitment to the development of sustainable print production.

Sussex-based art publisher and online retailer, King & McGaw, has chosen swissQprint's Nyala 4 to deliver performance and quality, whilst providing exceptional return on investment and sustainability credentials for its growing business.

With the mission to 'celebrate art' King & McGaw serves end users via their own website kingandmcgaw.com, alongside more than two dozen white-label websites for which they fulfil an extensive range of orders. In addition, they also supply many of the UK's museums and galleries with prints for their gift shops and create wall art products for major retail groups.

The 3.2×2 metre flatbed Nyala 4 is the latest addition to their plant list of over a dozen machines but is already demonstrating its ability to outperform them in terms of speed of production, capability, and reliability. And with such high resolution printing there is no compromise in the industry-leading quality for which King & McGaw has a strong reputation.

"It really is a win/win solution for us," said King &McGaw's Operations Director, Ian Brooker. "We were looking to enhance both our performance and our productivity in one acquisition. With the swissQprint build quality and low running costs, the Nyala 4 gave us the answer for which we had searched. It is an investment for our future and its productivity, reliability and flexibility means our ROI is already very positive."

Features like the Tip Switch Vacuum system have boosted King & McGaw's efficiency in printing on rigid materials. Also, the roll to roll and dual roll functions, and light black ink, now provide a broader range of products and services for customers, with still more to come in terms of productivity and finishes. This newfound functionality is even helping King & McGaw win additional work from third party trade customers, producing, for example, items that would previously have been screen or pad printed.

The new Nyala 4 installation supports King & McGaw's strong commitment to the development of sustainable print production. Its low energy LED curing and cutting-edge engineering, as evidenced by swissQprint's ISO 20690:2018 certification, keep energy requirements low, while reliable precision printing saves inks and paper, reducing wastage.

Erskine Stewart, Managing Director for swissQprint, is pleased to see how perfectly the Nyala has met all King & McGaw's requirements, in terms of operational benefits, the cost of ownership and sustainability: "Working with customers who recognise the wider advantages of swissQprint equipment is a delight, and we feel sure that the Nyala 4 will continue to deliver for King & McGaw for many years to come."

Brooker concluded: "Our operators love it; our customers love its quality, and I love its positive impact on both our portfolio of products, our bottom line and our carbon footprint. The Nyala is an exceptional machine and its agility in printing a wide variety of new materials at speed and to the highest of quality, combined with its production and environment-friendly features, mean it is our new flagship printer."
