Springfield Solutions bought its first Screen Truepress Jet L350UV digital label press in 2014, its second a year later and – only 9 months later – its third (at drupa)!
Joint MDs Dennis Ebeltoft and Matt Dass, along with Print Operations Manager Steve Nix visited drupa to seal the deal and will take delivery in a couple of months once they have expanded its facility to accommodate it. The latest press will be in-line to a Screen JetConverter L350 finishing system inline varnishing, lamination, die cutting and slitting to give full end-to-end production and converting efficiency.
The investment has been made to cope with the company’s significant growth over the last 3 years – largely due to the impact that the Truepress Jets have had on the business. “We have seen a lot of growth in business from existing and new clients which has put us a year ahead of schedule in terms of investing in a third press. These Screen presses are driving our business growth and attracting new clients and we needed more capacity now to be able to service them and meet tight deadlines - we have been surprised by the success,” says Dennis. “We are seeing run lengths now that we didn’t expect for digital labels and are printing 20,000 linear metres during a single 8-hour shift
The end-to-end integration goes further at Springfield Solutions with the Screen presses linked into the company’s CERM MIS system to provide accurate job management, production cost analysis and control.
“Springfield Solutions was the first company to install a Truepress Jet L350UV in Europe in 2014 and they have just gone from strength to strength since then,” says Brian Filler, President of Screen Europe. “It’s refreshing to be associated with such a professional company that is continually investing and growing a successful digital label business.”
