The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) unveiled the design of its 2018 SGIA Expo T-shirt, designed for the second straight year by Graphic Elephants. Shirts will sell for $5 at the Expo (Las Vegas, October 18–20), and proceeds will support the Nevada SPCA.
“It is an honor to be asked to produce the art and shirts for the Expo. We always try to put together something that matches the show’s theme while displaying high-level printing applications,” said Lon Winters, President, Graphic Elephants.
This year’s T-shirt design captures the cityscape of Las Vegas and what it adds to the show, celebrating the SGIA Expo with a look ahead to PRINTING United. PRINTING United, which launches in October 2019, is a new trade show from SGIA and NAPCO Media focused on the opportunities that industry convergence presents.
Winters’ T-shirt design features the bright lights of some of the most popular spots on the strip, such as TAO Nightclub, where the show’s Opening Night Party will be held. US Route 66, shown in a bent perspective, connects Las Vegas to Dallas, with a PRINTING United sign teasing what’s ahead for SGIA and the printing industry.
“The SGIA staff asked us to tell a story with our design, so we portrayed the transition of the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas to PRINTING United in Dallas, and what better way to connect the two cities than the iconic Route 66,” said Winters.
Suppliers donate all of the resources — including the artwork — used to create the show T-shirts: Amagic, EasiWay, Fruit of the Loom, M&R, Murakami, PMI, Shur-Loc, Stretch Devices, Ulano/Kiwo and Wilflex PolyOne.
Nevada SPCA will receive proceeds from shirt sales.
