All seats are filled for SGIA’s upcoming Color Management Boot Camp (March 7–9, 2017).
The two-day workshop focuses on colour management for wide-format inkjet printing and will be led by a team of colour experts: Travis Barcelona, Inkjet Team Leader, Nazdar; Dan Gillespie, Director of Technical Services, Color Management Group; Tony Quinn, Chief Technology Officer, National Sublimation; Jim Raffel, CEO, ColorMetrix Technologies, LLC; and Ray Weiss, Digital Imaging Specialist, SGIA.
“There’s no such thing as ‘good enough’ when it comes to matching colour, especially when you’re working with national brands,” says Weiss. “The colour either matches specs or it doesn’t. When you get it right the first time, you end up with happier customers and a more efficient workflow.”
The workshop covers topics such as colour theory and principles, device calibration, the newest print standards and print verification. Participants also enjoy hands-on media profiling with a selection of RIP software including Caldera, Onyx and Wasatch.
“The Color Management Boot Camp created a sense of urgency for developing a process to formulate, manage and verify existing ICCs. It also opened up an internal discussion about evaluating printer performance,” says past attendee Sachelle Thompson, Executive Assistant, LogoJET. “What I learned about streamlining a process to keep ICCs consistently on target for optimal printing results has led to increasing customer satisfaction.”
SGIA’s Color Management Boot Camps consistently sell out, and space in the next workshop (June 6–8, 2017; Fairfax, Virginia) is rapidly filling. Learn more and register on the SGIA website.
