Roland DG renews long relationship with Granthams

Roland DG has appointed Granthams as a supplier for TrueVIS large-format printer/cutter solutions.

Roland DG has appointed Granthams as a supplier for TrueVIS large-format printer/cutter solutions, the next stage in a long relationship between the two companies.

Based in Preston, Granthams has a distinguished history stretching back to 1890 when William Grantham founded a sign-writing business in Blackpool. In the next 120 years the company expanded to become a pioneer in sign-making technology, backing the 20th century's biggest innovations such as Perspex, Apple computer graphics systems and the first solvent printers to hit the UK market. Indeed, Granthams has previously been a Roland dealer and notes the pioneering evolution of the two brands into the era of digital inkjet printing.

With a loyal customer base comprising signage and graphics companies, and exhibition, display and vehicle graphics specialists, this well-established business is perfectly placed to again represent Roland in these markets. Many of Granthams's existing customers already use Roland machines, so the renewed partnership will offer them more exciting opportunities to explore Roland's latest wide-format systems.

Kirsty Reader, General Manager at Granthams, comments: "Granthams has had a very long history with Roland and we feel the TrueVIS VG2 will complement our premium range, helping to ensure that our customers can make the best decision when investing in outdoor-durable options."

Along with the fast and powerful Roland SOLJET Pro 4 XR-640 inkjet printer/cutter and the eco-nomical Roland TrueVIS SG inkjet printer/cutter duo, Granthams will supply new Roland TrueVIS VG2 solutions. These inkjet printer/cutters have already come top in the 'Best Print & Cut Solution' category in the EDP Awards and the 'Printer' category in the ISA Innovation Awards, demonstrating their capacity to help users excel in a range of applications.

The TrueVIS VG is a next-generation print-and-cut solution, featuring more than 40 enhancements over previous models, including TR2 ink with Orange for ground-breaking colour reproduction and certification from the industry's leading media suppliers.

Kirsty Reader notes her standout elements of the TrueVIS VG2: "Prints from the new Roland VG2 printer/cutter are ready for lamination in as little as six hours and the machines require less frequent maintenance and cleaning. Plus, the 500ml ink sacks don't have an expiry date making them even more cost efficient."

She adds: "Customers are welcome to book a demonstration of the Roland TrueVIS VG2 at our Preston office, where they will receive our unbiased advice based on their needs."

In a blog post announcing the refreshed relationship with Roland, Granthams states: "Roland has been here since the birth of our inkjet industry and more importantly, has kept itself relevant and at the cutting edge for well over 20 years. We can't wait to get to know new and existing Roland users as we start our journey with them and look forward to what's next from this technological trailblazer."
