If you’re in the business of creating and selling promotional clothing and merchandise, you’ll no doubt be aware of Printwear and Promotion LIVE! 2019. Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from January 20th to 22nd, this annual exhibition is now celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Back in 1989, the world of promotional products was a much different place. Now, 30 years later, Roland DG continues to push the envelope of technology and at P&P LIVE! 2019, you can see the latest innovations in garment printing – and much more besides!
Two Sublimation Printers in One
This year, the star of the show on stand G60 will be the new Texart RT-640M, the dual-function sublimation printer you’ve been dreaming of. What makes this machine so special is its ability to print both onto transfer paper and direct to textile. For providers looking to offer their customers a more complete package, this is something of a game-changer. With the same machine, you can create a line of promotional clothing, branded mugs and even flags. Just think about the edge this could give your business – you can almost hear your competitors quaking in their boots!
Custom Clothing Made Easy
For visitors who are newly familiar with Roland DG, there’ll be a chance to see some of the time-honoured favourites from the portfolio. Compact solutions like the BN-20 printer/cutter and the GS-24 vinyl cutter have been instrumental in getting hundreds of successful promotional clothing businesses off the ground. Aside from their versatility and reliability, these handy devices also come with a very attractive price tag, not to mention the full support of a RolandCare warranty.
If you need a more high-volume solution, you’ll also get to see the TrueVIS SG-300 wide format printer/cutter. With a 736mm maximum printing width, this is the smallest printer/cutter in the TrueVIS range but remember – there’s only so much space on stand G60 and Roland have a LOT more busi-ness-boosting devices to fit on!
The Future is Foil
Take the LD-80 laser foil decorator for example, another brand-new product that you can feast your eyes on. Don’t be fooled by its size – this little machine has a lot of potential for adding personalised touches to small items and finishing them with foil. Roland’s own Ronee Gillett has been experimenting with the LD-80 in the months leading up to its release and she can’t stop talking about it.
“If you look around, you can find loads of different foils in different shades of gold, silver and copper – you can even get a rainbow-coloured foil which looks amazing. Almost every day, I’ve found something new to try out on the LD-80, from mobile phone cases to gift boxes, and the results are really impressive.”
Personalise Anything
The personalisation solutions don’t stop there – you can also see the MPX-95 engraving machine in action. In a few minutes, this magic box can take a metal item, like a keyring, and engrave your company logo, a serial number or even a photo of your cat!
If that’s not enough personalisation for you then you’ll probably be excited by the possibilities of UV printing. If you find yourself on stand G60, have a look at the VersaUV LEF-12i and see how you can print directly onto pens, bottle openers, notebooks – you name it! You can even print textures and embossed effects with the wonder of gloss ink.
Learn More, Go Further
You’ll probably agree – that’s a LOT of really exciting stuff to fit on a single exhibition stand! The excitement is spilling over into The Knowledge Suite as Roland host a Print Clinic from 11am each day. Wherever you are on your print odyssey, you can come along to these hour-long sessions and ask any questions you have about all aspects of print. Members of the Roland team will be on hand to share their wisdom and they’ll be joined by Alex Liggett of The Vinyl Guys – as a proud Roland user, he can share his advice for anyone looking to take their business further.
Roland’s Academy manager, Joe Wigzell says: “We want to help out as many people as we can, regardless of the hardware they use or where they are in their print journey. If they want to know where to start with dye sublimation, we can give them the basics. Or, if they want to revitalise their business with a brand-new product, we can help them work out where they should invest to get the quickest return. It’s all about the visitors, really.”
With only a few weeks to go, the Roland team is excited about P&P LIVE! and they’re sure you are too. If you haven’t done so already, just click here to register!
