Renolit claim calendered vinyl viable for vehicle wrapping

RENOLIT remains at the vanguard of innovative vehicle vinyl wrapping films.

American RENOLIT Corp (ARC), a leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic films in the USA, continues to be at the forefront of superior, versatile and cost effective calendered polymeric films for a variety of commercial and personal vehicle wrapping applications.

Car and truck wrapping applications have traditionally relied on cast manufactured 75 micrometer (µm) vinyl, but through its innovations to the calendered manufacturing process to ensure repeatability of quality across every production run, RENOLIT has differentiated itself from the market, and is able to offer a more cost effective 50µm calendered film alternative which has equivalent characteristics than cast versions.

Three such applications for which RENOLIT’s innovative 50µm film – the thinnest and most flexible calendered film on the market – include the application of a transparent version of the film in order to preserve the original paintwork on cars and trucks by mitigating scratches and chipping from stones, so maintaining the original color and pristine finish.

A second, opaque version – which can be supplied in any color - is most commonly used to revitalize older vehicles or to personalize new models. In addition to enhancing the entire vehicle’s color or finish for considerably less than the cost of a paint re-spray, it also allows for spot re-finishing or personalization of areas like wing mirrors, roof or door panels, as well as enabling fashionable finishes such as matte or other embossing patterns.

For more commercial vehicle applications, a white version of the 50µm film can be over printed digitally to create advertising wraps, presenting relevant imagery, logos and contact details, with a clear laminate subsequently applied over the wrap for protection.

“Our 50µm film is testament to RENOLIT’s pioneering spirit and technical capabilities”, said Renaat Demeulemeester, President at American RENOLIT Corporation. “Its strength, superior handling ability and resilience for outdoor applications such as vehicle wrapping is key to supporting our innovative product portfolio.”
