Protect Safety Signs, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Temporary Traffic Management signs to the Emergency Services sector, has recently bought and installed two Océ Colorado 1640 printers.
In operation for more than 20 years, Protect Safety Signs is always looking to improve each and every aspect of the business through investing in new technology to boost turnaround times. The company looked to Canon’s partner ADAPT (Amari Digital Printing Technologies) to upgrade its current print systems to improve productivity and service quality. After serious consideration, Protect Safety Signs opted to install two Canon printers through ADAPT to double the efficiency of its production process and increase its print capacity.
Andy Roberts, General Manager of Protect Safety Signs, commented: “We are extremely happy with the installation of the two Colorado 1640s. Before working with Canon, we had never been able to reliably print and rewind a whole 50m roll of printed media. But, the Colorado 1640 has transformed our print capabilities and we can now print much faster – 114m² per hour – without the level of quality being compromised. This change has been such a positive step for the business and we are extremely impressed with the outcome.”
With several contracts that require high volumes of print materials in a short time-frame, the investment in flatbed printing and cutting-edge machinery has enabled Protect Safety Signs to keep up with demand, while streamlining processes.
Key benefits from the installation of the Océ Colorado 1640:
• The UVgel print technology increases productivity and speed while using less ink and still delivering an improved colour gamut
• Consistently fast output speeds and rapid job turnaround, delivering productivity only previously possible using multiple roll-to-roll engines or a larger flatbed print engine
• Combines quality, productivity and profitability
• Produces instant dry highly durable and colourfast prints, with excellent aesthetics
• Can handle multiple jobs on one device
Duncan Smith, Canon UK’s Country Director for Production Printing Products said: “We are thrilled Protect Safety Signs has decided to install two Océ Colorado 1640 printers with our partner, ADAPT. To see the company’s print capacity increase, all while using less physical space is great. We are confident Protect Safety Signs’ business will continue to soar following the installation of the printers, enabling them to deliver outstanding results.”
