Marketing activities boost Roland DG's Twitter followers to over 1000

Roland DG's Creative Awards competition and its new website have helped to boost the company's number of Twitter followers to over 1000 from just over 200 at the start of the year.  Roland's Twitter account can be found at www.twitter.com/rolanddguk

Gillian Montanaro, Head of Marketing for Roland DG states: “We have seen a steady increase in the number of Twitter followers throughout the year, with a significant uplift in the last few months as we have ramped up our activities online.  Recently we have launched both a new look Roland DG website www.rolanddg.co.uk, and the Roland Forum www.rolandforum.co.uk, plus we’ve recently gone live with our new Facebook page.”

Roland DG’s move into online aligns with the company’s goal to be the easiest company in the industry to deal with, by making it simpler for customers and potential customers to get in touch.  It has also resulted in raising the profile of many Roland DG staff who are now actively engaging with customers on the Roland forum.  Proving that social media is not just hype, Roland DG has also received direct sales enquiries from its activities on Twitter.

Most recently, Roland DG has been using Twitter to tweet details of entrants into its new worldwide competition, www.rolandcreativeawards.com.  Roland customers are invited to submit their best work produced on a Roland in return for the opportunity to win a new Roland machine, a trip to Japan and an Apple iPAD2.  Following the social media trend of online participation, everyone is invited to go to the competition gallery and vote on the entries that they like the best.
