Lexon Group signs up UK’s first large format Screen Truepress Jet2500UV at Drupa

altNewport-based Lexon Group has bought the first UK Screen Truepress Jet2500UV at Drupa. Lexon Group is extending its range of services, which includes offset, digital and screenprinting, and has a requirement for a top of the range system to produce POS material for high-end retail customers. The Truepress Jet2500UV is a versatile, ultra high-quality, hybrid roll-fed and flatbed inkjet system featuring grayscale printheads. It can print at a variety of resolutions, producing 70 sqm/hr at 300dpi and outstanding photo quality detail at 1500dpi. “It was a natural progression for us,” says sales director Benn Davis. “We have full offset, digital and screen facilities and we needed a system that was capable of producing top quality POS material for our high-end clients such as Christian Dior. We evaluated many systems, but it was the quality of the Truepress Jet2500UV that clinched the deal.” With factories in Newport and the Isle of Man and offices in Sunderland, Exeter, Swansea and London, Lexon Group has undergone rapid growth in recent years and is set for further expansion. Its POS department has comprehensive facilities from design through to finished production under one roof. “We are expanding our POS division and the Truepress Jet2500UV will start production in August, which will open up new avenues for us in the retail sector,” explains Benn. The versatility of the Truepress Jet2500UV is ideally suited to POS work. Its flatbed capabilities allows printing on substrates up to 2500mm wide and up to 50mm thick. Printing directly from reels of flexible material, a length of 50m can be achieved. Up to seven colours are available, including options for white ink, light cyan and light magenta. The UV-curable inks makes it possible to print on a variety of substrates with consistent colour and quality.
