Made to match the market’s needs: When developing wide-format products, the Kernow team always looks at offering significant benefits to the complete supply chain, up to the end-user. Kernow wants the materials to be compatible with all standard inks and printers - this benefits distributors with stock control, and printing companies with products they can run on all their equipment.
The MetaliK self-adhesive films were developed to not only match indoor or outdoor applications, but also installation and deinstallation expectations. KernowJet MetaliKs are multi-functional, as they are perfect to use both as a CAD materials and a print medias, in unique widths up to 1524 mm (60”). Suitable for doming, easy to apply on glass and walls, perfect for POS displays and packaging mock-ups. Last FESPA in Munich, the products were beautifully presented on the Kernow booth, as well as in the Printeriors area designed by Debbie McKeegan.
The MetaliK products are split in two ranges - MetaliK Cut&Print and MetaliK Inkjet. The films created a remarkable interest during the show; the team was swamped with enquiries from dealers, specialist printers, sign-makers and brand designers for applications including high-end packaging, luxury boutiques and next winter season campaigns.
The products are available in 3 colours – Silver, Gold and Rose-Gold - and in two widths 1372 or 1524 mm (54” or 60”), which are unique widths in the industry. They are all printable with solvent, eco-solvent, UV-curable and latex inks, which is ideal for many printers now equipped to print with white inks. The MetaliK films are PVC-free substrates and can be perfectly cut with any plotter, even laser ones. The Kernow R&D team focused on creating benefits and solutions, using ultra-dimensionally stable polyester films. Shrinking lettering on a hot, south facing window and the risk of exposed ugly adhesive edges is now consigned to history!
With MetaliK Cut&Print, Kernow focuses on glass applications. The product has the same metallised colour on both sides, so that application from the inside will still provide the desired effect from the outside. Designed for promotional campaigns, MetaliK Cut&Print comes with a removable adhesive, hence why it is perfect for applications like Christmas and holiday decorations. Since its launch, KernowJet MetaliK has already been used by several major clothing retailers.
MetaliK Inkjet is mainly designed for lamination of larger areas on any smooth substrates. It can be applied on aluminium composite panels like Dibond, before or after printing, or directly applied on walls. The high-tack permanent adhesive has been designed for long-term applications, but also for use in combination with resin, which creates so-called doming/3D-labels, or to be combined with any rigid substrate to create a perfect solution for packaging mock-ups.
All these films are available from warehouses in UK, Belgium and the USA.
