UK-based Johnston Mailing has upgraded its line-up of Canon digital production presses with an order for three imagePRESS engines placed at drupa 2016.
The Glasgow-based direct mail specialist has been a Canon customer since it was founded 12 years ago as an all-digital production house. Its latest Canon equipment order is for two imagePRESS 1135 Plus presses, Canon’s flagship mid-volume digital monochrome production engine, and an imagePRESS C800 colour light production press with inline booklet-making.
Scott Johnston, Managing Director at Johnston Mailing, explains: “With this latest investment, we can now diversify into new formats such as six-page A5 landscape or six-page A4, while the booklet-making capability enables us to execute innovative personalised direct marketing concepts, such as completely tailored cruise itinerary booklets for high-end travel clients.”
Customers of Johnston Mailing range from travel and tourism companies to universities, and from major blue chips to SMEs. The company’s work covers the spectrum from high volume national campaigns to bespoke short-run personalised direct mail applications such as complex individual travel itineraries and alumni brochures.
Wayne Barlow, Head of Sales, Professional Print, Canon UK, commented: “We’re excited that Johnston Mailing have chosen to continue its long working relationship with Canon technology. The high volume capabilities and productivity of the Canon imagePRESS engines will help improve Johnston’s production efficiency and support the company’s business growth plans.”
Johnston Mailing will take delivery of the three new Canon imagePRESS engines in July.
