John E Wright & Co. Ltd Expands Flatbed Printing Capabilities with HP Scitex Technology

altHP today announced that John E Wright & Co. Ltd, Nottingham, has added an HP Scitex FB6100 UV Printer to its main print facility to increase production and grow its existing UV direct print-to-substrate business.

John E Wright & Co. is a leading supplier of graphic services and supplies to the graphic design and corporate marketing communities throughout the Midlands with a turnover approaching £8 million. The company entered the flatbed business in 2004 with the purchase of its first UV printer. Two years later, demand had increased to a level where an NUR Tempo (now the HP Scitex FB6100 Printer) was purchased. Since then, annual growth rates have exceeded 30 percent, generating the need for the second HP Scitex FB6100 Printer at the Nottingham facility.

John E Wright & Co. has an additional twelve HP Designjet Z6100 Printers at its various sites around the UK.

"The HP Scitex FB6100 Printer was without doubt the first and only choice for us when we were looking to add another three metre flatbed printer. This printer is very versatile and produces stunning output at a speed that is hard to beat," said Tony Barnett, managing director, John E Wright & Co. Ltd. "We work all our printers 24/7 here and we simply can't afford for any of them to be off-line for any period of time. The HP Scitex FB6100 Printer matched our requirements for speed and quality and, because of its robust build, is very reliable."

The HP Scitex FB6100 Printer can print onto almost any rigid, thick or heavy specialty media, from standard Foamex, MDF and plastic to glass, wood and metals. The built-in roll-to-roll capability also enables printing onto roll-fed flexible media such as vinyl, banners and papers. Applications include indoor and outdoor signage, point of sale, billboards, building wraps and almost any display graphic. The machine offers a choice of 8-colour, 6-colour or 4-colour printing and has the additional benefit of printing white. Machine speeds up to 100m2/hour offer unrivalled productivity.

"We are really excited about our new investment," Barnett added. "By doubling our production capacity, we are able to turn jobs around for our customers faster than ever. Adding another HP Scitex FB6100 has helped us streamline our workflow and we now have a more productive environment.  This enables us to work more cost-effectively and pass on savings to our customers, reducing their cost of marketing."
