Inspirational wall graphics for SDUK offices brings ‘the outside in’

A competition among Faversham House staff resulted in a theme of ‘Elements in nature’ and so images showing Earth, Water, Fire, Metal and Sky, along with local scenes were chosen.

Having moved into new offices in East Grinstead three years ago, the organisers of Sign & Digital UK, Faversham House, were looking to improve their working environment through the introduction of inspiring wall graphics.

The company - which works across many industries including water, energy, sustainability and visual communications - wanted to make use of local expertise and so approached Vinyl Impression, a design-focused digital printing specialist, to fulfill the project.

With the company split across two floors, the aim was to use themed wall graphics to bring a connection between teams in different parts of the office and to provide a positive working environment. The key areas for transformation were the meeting rooms, main working areas, kitchen and breakout area. A competition among FH staff resulted in a theme of ‘Elements in nature’ and so images showing Earth, Water, Fire, Metal and Sky, along with local scenes were chosen. Working closely with the Faversham House team, Vinyl Impression provided a site survey, advice on the choice of materials & images, through to image editing, printing, finishing and installation and the result is a set of stunning images.

The project was also sponsored by Papergraphics, a leading supplier of large-format inkjet print media for the graphics and CAD markets. Papergraphics, who successfully exhibited for the first time at Sign & Digital UK 2016, provided their innovative Digimura 2.1 Smooth Wallcovering & Paste and the images were printed on an HP Latex 360 printer.

“The installation was successfully completed during the working day with minimal disruption to the client. The walls were prepped prior to install, which enabled our a four man team to fit the wallpapers in a blisteringly quick 6 hours” said Ed Currer, Creative Director, Vinyl Impression

“The response from staff has been 100% positive, with comments ranging from ‘it has completely changed the outlook from my desk’ to ‘the bright colours help to lift the spirits on a dull day’ “said Sign & Digital UK Event Director, Rudi Blackett. “As the organisers of Sign & Digital UK we are thrilled that our offices are a showcase for innovative print and design and we are planning to work further with Vinyl Impression to enhance our reception area and to highlight our company values using different media formats.”
