INX Digital to exhibit at Shanghai International Ad & Sign Technology show

INX Digital International Co. will focus on several themes and introduce a couple of new high performance ink products at the 18th annual Shanghai International Ad & Sign Technology Equipment Exhibition, scheduled for July 6-9 at the Shanghai International Expo Centre.  The company will be exhibiting in Hall W1 on Stand 521.

As a preferred supplier to the Asian Pacific market, INX Digital will reinforce its corporate image.  Planned presentations on "Bringing together chemistry, technology and engineering", as well as "Delivering technologies that drive digital growth", are designed to help people understand the goals and achievements of the company.  This includes the new Prodigy brand of products, which was formally introduced at the FESPA Americas show four months ago.   New product introductions geared for the alternative markets outside North America will include the TRIANGLE LD ink series.

"We are taking this approach for several reasons," remarked Ken Kisner, President of INX Digital International.  "Historically, this event in China is not only well attended with customers and prospects from the Asian Pacific region, but it draws exceptionally well from Latin America and the Middle East.  We will have corporate and dealer representatives from those and other areas in the booth, and they will help explain who we are and what direction the company is taking.

"Many people only know us from the past as TRIANGLE.  This show will help them understand TRIANGLE is actually part of a much larger company with plenty of resources and a much bigger goal.  With a substantial R & D commitment, our reputation as a global industry leader in inkjet formulation and manufacturing capabilities, and the ability to produce new products like Prodigy for the graphic arts and industrial markets, people attending this show will realize the bright future ahead for INX Digital."

Continuing with its plan to introduce more new products to the marketplace, INX Digital will unveil the TRIANGLE LD series of high performance inks.  This includes STX LD for HP Scitex XL1200, XL1500 and Grandjet printers, and VUV LD for printers using Spectra, Hitachi Koki, Xaar 126 and Seiko 572 14pl print head technology.  A true solvent-based ink, among its many benefits is a greater color gamut and lower cost compared to OEM inks.

"I think the new LD series will make an impact with those attending this show," Kisner said.  "The main reason why we developed these inks was to be in a position to match a printer's needs.  Many jobs only require short term durability compared to the two-year durability that's the norm.  Our formulation matches lower durability needs and what customers and the market have been telling us.  With the LD series, they won't have to spend more money on a product they don't require."

Both the STX LD and VUV LD inks will be made available immediately after the show in the Asia-Pacific (except in Australia and New Zealand), Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

INX Digital will also shine the spotlight on several Prodigy brand products. LED-INX, a UV-Curable pigmented inkjet ink, is now available after the company achieved solid test results and received positive feedback from integrators around the world.  Application samples of textile inks available for direct-to-fabric printing will be in the booth, in addition to water-based textile disperse and reactive dye inkjet inks.

Robert Horne Group adopts Colorific’s high quality alternative inks for Roland printers

Colorific, a leading supplier of high quality alternative inks, today announced that Robert Horne Group has become a Preferred Partner for its Colorific Pro Max inks for Roland printers.  This is one of Robert Horne Group’s first ventures into selling alternative inks.  At present, the agreement encompasses the UK and Northern Ireland.

As part of the agreement, Tech8, the technical support and spares provider for the wide format printing industry, will support Roland machines converted across to the Colorific Pro Max inks.  This will ensure that customers benefit from unrivalled support when switching across to Colorific’s cost-effective and reliable alternative ink solution.

Julian Boulter, Category Manager at Robert Horne Group, comments, “We took on the Colorific Pro Max inks so we could provide our customers with fully-supported access to high quality, cost-effective alternative inks.  Print businesses are under ever-increasing pressure to reduce costs without impacting the quality of their output and switching across to alternative inks is one way of doing so.”

The Colorific Pro Max inks for Roland printers are fully-compatible with Roland OEM inks and therefore there is no need to flush the system prior to switchover.  The colours are matched to the OEM inks and inks are available in CMYK,Lc,Lm 440ml chipped cartridges.

Shaun Holdom, Colorific’s Business Manager, adds, “For Roland printer owners, there are clear benefits in switching across to our high quality alternative inks.  They are more cost-effective than OEM inks, yet there is no differentiation in the quality of output and no issues switching over.  In addition, all Colorific Pro Max ink is backed by its own ink stream warranty.  The vast majority of our customers report over 30% cost saving on alternative ink compared to OEM ink.”

With Tech8’s backing, customers are also reassured of great technical support – in the unlikely event it is required.  Justin Atkinson, Business Development Manager, at Tech8, concludes, “For Roland printers that are now out of OEM-warranties, we are offering continued, cost-effective, comprehensive cover.  Customers will benefit from a cost-effective warranty package which ultimately gives them peace of mind – regardless of the age of the machine.”

For customers wishing to check the print quality for themselves, free samples can be ordered online via:  www.colorificink.com/rhg.  A data sheet with additional product details is also downloadable from this address.

Hilord and 3P announce distribution partnership on inks for selected printers

Hilord and 3P announce a partnership where 3P will have distribution rights to Hilord’s textile inks for numerous selected printers. The inks include disperse dye and sublimation for direct and transfer printing in many different mediums, water based, solvent based and oil based as well as Hilord’s new break through BIO-SUB inks made with solvents from renewable resources. Hilord is very well known in the textile industry as an ink manufacturer.

"This is a great collaboration of our companies", says Donald H. Balbinder, President and CEO of Hilord Chemical Corp. "We are very pleased to be working with 3P InkJet Textiles AG. The 3P textiles are of very high quality and standards and complement our inks beautifully.”

Thomas Pötz, Chairman of 3P InkJet Textiles AG adds: “We are delighted to extend our close cooperation by launching Hilord ink sale activities. Especially their great new ink solution offers our solvent printing customers a world of new applications. Just by replacing solvent ink with Hilord’s BIO-SUB ink the traditional solvent printer turns into a dye sublimation textile printer. The investment for the more environmentally friendly solution is low. The results are fantastic: vibrant, brilliant colors and excellent color gamut. Modify your printer and react quickly and flexibly to market demands.”

INX Digital reaches targets at FESPA Digital

INX Digital International Co. experienced tremendous success in its continued quest to help printers convert to digital printing at the recent FESPA Digital show, held May 24-26 in Hamburg, Germany.  Company officials are proud to report across-the-board interest in many of the products INX Digital had to offer at the show.

In addition to the increasingly popular EVOLVE® Advanced Digital Solutions, DTX direct-to-fabric textile inks and the environmentally friendly EDX inks and EcoBulk ink delivery system scored big points with show visitors.  INX Digital’s new Prodigy brand was also well received at what Ken Kisner, President of INX Digital International, refers to as the annual premier European tradeshow.

“Show organisers promised an “Evolution” and people got it when they visited our booth,” remarked Kisner.  “I thought the show was well attended with a very focused and qualified group of people.  Those that I spoke with said they stopped by to learn more about our fabric and digital printing offerings.  I was very pleased that the great majority of these people were authorised to purchase products, in addition to the tremendous turnout of our Triangle dealers representing the EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.”

The Triangle DTX direct-to-fabric textile inks in the booth were demonstrated on ATP colour printers. Designed for use on direct printing with synthetic fabrics using Epson print heads, they deliver optimal quality and a wide colour gamut.  These inks have extremely fast drying characteristics on polyesters with minimum 60% blends.  DTX also displays optimal ink fluidity and an excellent image definition and fastness properties.

The EDX inks are eco-solvent products and represent the first time the Triangle brand has offered a colour and chemically compatible ECO product for the alternative market.  Designed for Roland printers with Epson DX4 print head technology and demonstrated at FESPA Digital on Roland VersaCAMM printers, EDX is a fast drying ink with low odour and is TAPS-free.  It’s also unique being the only HAPS-free product in the industry.  EDX also provides a significant cost savings when compared to OEM eco inks.

The Prodigy brand attracted interested buyers for several reasons.  The Graphic Arts side serves OEMs, Integrators and print head companies within the digital market, but the expanding Industrial market targets textile, fabric, tile, glass, metal and wood grain business with a variety of UV, water and solvent-based products.  Various fabric and packaging samples were on display in the booth.

Sun Chemical announces North American ink price increase

Faced with continued volatility in the global supply chain and increases in the costs of raw materials, including acrylic and polyamide resins, rosin resins, distillates, carbon black, TiO2, Violet 23 and nitrocellulose, Sun Chemical will raise prices on July 1, 2011 in the United States and Canada by:

  • a minimum of 8 percent for water-based corrugated packaging liquid inks,
  • a minimum of 15 percent for all other water-based and all solvent-based packaging liquid inks,
  • 10 percent for all heatset inks, and
  • 10 percent on all Sun Chemical Rycoline blanket and roller solvent-based washes, specialty solvents, and isopropyl alcohol.

"We have seen an unrelenting elevation of costs on raw materials such as nitrocellulose, which has a price increase of over 15 percent announced for July 1 based on a 32 percent increase for cellulose, the base feedstock. We simply cannot offset the drastic raw material price increases we have seen this past year across all our product lines," said Tony Renzi, Vice President of Product Management, Liquid Inks, North American Inks, Sun Chemical. "Despite these challenges, we are looking for ways to work closely with our supply chain partners on controlling our own costs."
