Roland DG flew the flag for England at its Creative Centre in Clevedon on Tuesday 26th June, with a day of World Cup-themed footie fun, some incredibly innovative printing and the launch of a special (and very cool!) offer.
New and existing Roland customers attended the all-day event near Bristol, which featured an exciting table football competition with the winners taking home official footballs and England shirts. Print pros also became soccer stars by printing their own pocket-sized toy figurine in their favourite team's colours on the VersaUV S-Series printer.
The S-Series was also put through its paces with a ‘What Can You Print?’ challenge, where the UV printer's versatility and 200mm of vertical space was put to the test with objects supplied by visitors. The new system is available in flatbed and belt configurations and is already being used to create
everything from packaging prototypes to printed flight cases.
Elsewhere, Alex Liggett from The Vinyl Guys was on hand to share his tips and tricks for running a successful print business, while Paul Butler from Fatree5 ran fabric decoration demonstrations on the Roland Texart RT-640 dye-sublimation printer. As Roland users themselves, Alex and Paul know these applications inside out.
With plenty to inspire visitors to get printing, Academy and Creative Centre Manager Joe Wigzell hosted a learn with Joe clinic, fielding a huge variety of questions.
The open day also saw the launch of a special offer: anyone who orders a Roland large-format vinyl cutter, a CAMM-1 GR-540 or GR-640 will receive a free mini fridge, ready-stocked with beer. However, this offer is only live while England remain in the World Cup so fingers crossed for no penalty shoot-outs!
"The event was a great success, with all visitors saying they took something away from the day," comments Rob Goleniowski, Head of Sales – Roland DG, UK & Ireland.
"As well as getting to see the latest printers in action, the highlight for many people was the inspiration that came from discussing applications with the Roland DG team. This was a key part of what we set out to achieve so we're delighted to say the mission was accomplished."
A visitor also had this to say: "Thank you for a great day! It was great to speak with Peter, Mark, Lawrence and see your customer care side and interesting dental, 3D, engraving, foiling and technologies and more. I know that I've missed a few names that I spoke to. But what great knowledgeable staff you have – along with the Roland Heroes."
The Roland Heroes Awards, launched earlier this year, recognise and celebrate the incredible Roland users doing business across EMEA. There was plenty of buzz about the awards at the Creative Centre open day, with lots to inspire visitors to enter. Please visit www.rolandhero.com for more information.
