Enfocus and partners to demonstrate groundbreaking solutions at drupa

Using the open architecture of Enfocus Switch, combined with the innovations from the Solution Partners, these integrations enable many companies to easily automate the repetitive tasks in their operations and improve productivity, quality and profitability.

At drupa 2016, Enfocus and its Solution Partners will highlight a range of integrations that don’t just touch the future, they automate it.

Using the open architecture of Enfocus Switch, combined with the innovations from the Solution Partners, these integrations enable many companies to easily automate the repetitive tasks in their operations and improve productivity, quality and profitability. Enfocus Switch is demonstrated at the Enfocus stand (Hall 8b, booth A23) while demonstrations of the integrated solutions can be found at the stands of Enfocus Solution Partners, located throughout the drupa.

Switch was developed to give users a modular way to automate a part or all of their workflow. The technology was built with an open architecture that enables it to be easily integrated with other applications that solve a range of business challenges. There are now over 25 Solution Partners who have integrated with Switch, greatly expanding the benefits of workflow automation.

Bjorn Willems, Director of Product Management at Enfocus, “On its own, Switch helps print service providers all over the globe become more productive. But when you combine its modular technology with the innovation and expertise of our Solution Partners, you create a collection of solutions that together have the ability to transform any business that needs to automate diverse repetitive tasks, including retailers, insurance companies and government agencies. As we look to drupa, users can experience various ways in which Enfocus Switch integrations are taking out the manual processes and repetitive tasks.

Less manual steps, more profitability

In most print organisations, it is the repetitive tasks such as PDF inspection, file management, and imposition that can slow down production, impact quality and negatively influence the bottom line.

The functionality of Switch, combined with the solutions developed by the Enfocus Solution Partners, gives print service providers and companies in a range of different businesses the solutions they need to improve their operations. Some of these joint solutions will be on display at drupa, and include:

Digital and production print

HP Indigo (Hall 17) makes use of the HP Indigo EPM Preflight Solution, combining Enfocus Switch, Enfocus PitStop Server and the HP Indigo EPM Kit, to automatically preflight print-ready PDF files and route them to EPM and non-EPM specific hot folders, based on a set of rules. This integration allows digital printers to define very specific parameters for their HP devices, enabling an automated workflow that can save even more money by eliminating the manual process.

Switch also seamlessly integrates with HP’s SmartStream Solutions such as SmartStream Designer, SmartStream Production Pro Print Server and SmartStream Production Center, eliminating errors and increasing throughput to the HP Indigo digital press. Switch integrations will be demonstrated in the Prepress zone and the HP Indigo Partners zone.

Preflighting & PDF

CHILI publish (Hall 7a, booth F40) developed CHILI rendro in collaboration with Enfocus. This revolutionary new technology for viewing PDFs on the web, combined with Enfocus’ PDF quality control and workflow expertise, has resulted in a new add-on module for Enfocus Switch, called Switch PDF Review Module

Global Vision (Hall 7a, booth E20) has partnered with Enfocus to deliver the Global Vision BarProof PDF barcode verification module, an off-the-shelf tool that integrates with the Enfocus Switch workflow.

Large Format

Caldera (Hall 6, booth C23) lets Large Format printers improve job submission and data management throughout their workflows by linking Enfocus Switch and Caldera Nexio to deliver superior workflow optimisation.

Imposition

Tilia Labs (Hall 7a, booth D41): Print service providers with demanding time and materials costs are now able to minimize those expenses and achieve faster turn-around time with the Phoenix Plan Configurator for Enfocus Switch.

This integration provides completely headless automation with the Phoenix Plan Configurator. Thanks to this, users can harness the full power of Phoenix Plan inside Switch, enabling them to import product orders from a CSV file or from direct PDF input and saving time and material costs on a range of different types of work, including Large-format, Commercial, Packaging and Labels.

Ultimate TechnoGraphics (Hall 8b, booth D06) offers a complete toolbox for imposition control, flexibility and automation. Impostrip allows Switch users the dynamic intelligence that is necessary to automate imposition flows that meet the challenges of today’s printing market. These challenges include various size job ganging, shape nesting, on demand books, hybrid workflow and many more. For optimising shorter runs, varying output sizes and quantities, automation drives results.

Quite Software (Hall 7, booth D27) is a PDF specialist company supplying software to the pre-press market at affordable prices. Quite products are specifically aimed at solving pre-press PDF problems and will appeal to anyone dealing with imposition, changing PDF files or colour management. Quite was the first company to provide Adobe Acrobat plug-ins for imposition.

Built on the rock solid foundations of the Quite Imposing Plus plug-in and the Adobe Acrobat PDF Library, integration of easy to use imposition functions into heavy duty, demanding workflows is provided. Quite has worked very closely with Enfocus to ensure customers can integrate Quite Hot Imposing – a standalone, very intuitive and easy to use imposition solution – with their Switch-based workflows to fully automate the imposition of PDF files.

Proofing and online collaboration

Aproove (Hall 7, booth C15) has partnered with Enfocus to automate the online collaborative approval of PDF and image files for customers using Aproove Express.

Alwan Color Expertise (Hall 7, booth C17), known for their PDF standardisation and quality control, have integrated Alwan ColorHub with Switch to fully automate the PDF quality assurance, colour optimisation and standards compliance verification process.

Workflow connectivity

The Esko Automation Engine solves the biggest packaging challenges of print professionals who need to increase quality, reduce errors and drive cost out of the process.

Enfocus Channel Partner

Attendees at drupa who are looking for Enfocus Solutions can also visit Impressed GmbH (Hall 7, booth D27). Impressed is the Enfocus distributor for the DACH region and at drupa, they will be providing demonstrations of this range of solutions.

Bjorn Willems concludes, “Enfocus is proud of the work our partners have put into developing the integrated solutions. We continually look to add more partners who can add value for our mutual customers. At drupa, we’ll be announcing a new partnership that builds on our mutual effort to transform this ever-evolving industry.”
