Durst, manufacturer of innovative digital printing systems and software solutions, has doubled down on its commitment to helping the UK print industry move towards a greener future.
The company has joined FESPA UK Association, as it looks to work closely with its members and the wider print community in the UK, to understand their priorities and help them deliver on those.
Peter Bray, Managing Director of Durst UK & Ireland, said: “Our sponsorship of the Green Award at the inaugural UK Graphic Awards is an important statement reflecting our approach to the environment. Durst has always pursued an ecological and sustainable approach, which is also firmly entrenched in our corporate philosophy.
“Joining FESPA UK will allow us to get involved in its discussions on how to create a greener print industry in the UK. This goes hand in hand with our concept of sustainable print solutions where it is our clear target to offer the most sustainable digital print technologies to our customers.
This starts with considering the ink technologies but also considers minimum substrate waste when feeding the machine and minimum waste generation, energy and water consumption in the machine manufacturing itself.
“One of our major developments has been water-based inks marketed under the term “Water Technology” for customers in the packaging industry (for example, single-pass corrugated) and textile industry (Alpha Series).”
Suzi Wilkinson, Director at FESPA UK, commented “We’re delighted to be welcoming Durst to the FESPA UK family. Its long-standing commitment to sustainability fits perfectly with our program for a greener UK print industry, and we look forward to the hugely valuable contribution that we know Peter and his team will make to the discussions going forward.”
Durst will discuss its Water Technology developments in an upcoming FESPA UK Live Session, a series of online discussions the association is hosting with industry partners to enable as many people as possible to get involved in their sustainability agenda.
