The Westcoast Group of companies are pleased to announce that they have acquired Colourgen Ltd, the long-established wide format print distributor. The acquisition by the Westcoast Group continues their investment to strengthen and expand the ‘value-added’ distribution sector.
Colourgen Ltd. will continue to operate as an autonomous business from its offices in Maidenhead and will carry on offering the same portfolio of products and services with the same staff, so it is very much business as usual. Westcoast Group company ArtSystems will assist in the integration helping to broaden the portfolio of products and revenues available through Colourgen’s channels. This closer cooperation between companies in the group will create new investment and growth opportunities for Colourgen and its customers.
Steve Hawker, Managing Director of ArtSystems said, “Looking ahead, we believe this acquisition will produce a more attractive proposition to existing and potential suppliers, so that above all, Colourgen’s customers will benefit. Whilst the company is retaining its key specialist attributes, the backing and reach of the Westcoast Group will ensure that their offering reaches a much wider audience”.
Jeff Biggs who founded Colourgen in 1987 and who was instrumental in building the wide format print market in this country will retire from the business. Managing Director, Mark Lambert will continue in a management role at Colourgen alongside members of the Westcoast management team.
Mark Lambert, Managing Director at Colourgen said, “It is our belief that Colourgen and its customers will grow and prosper under this new structure, and that we will achieve even greater results moving forward.”
