Canon to demonstrate its new Océ Arizona 1380 GT at SDUK

Canon unveils the innovations fuelling the power of print at Sign & Digital UK.

Visitors to Sign & Digital UK will discover the innovative flatbed platforms and multi-media capabilities reshaping the future of print at Canon’s stand (E10), NEC Birmingham, 2-4 April.

During the three-day show, Canon will demonstrate its new Océ Arizona 1380 GT to show how the power of smart technology can maximise productivity and media flexibility while retaining exceptional quality.

This state-of-the-art flatbed printer is designed to future-proof print operations. It boasts unique Océ Arizona Xpert software capable of automating complex applications to produce real-time print files, self-learning technology, instant-on printing, and outstanding speed, as well as print quality across rigid and flexible media for the widest possible range of applications.

To offer a tangible illustration of real-world intelligent printing impact, Canon will aim to inspire Print Service Providers (PSPs) with SPEED – its latest campaign to fuel emotion with print. A real life example, SPEED tells the story of how to amplify artistic exposure through digital print. Centred on photojournalist Horst Friedrichs, the campaign demonstrates how printing powered the creation of his high-quality book and two photographic exhibitions, which celebrated a two-decade journey of British subcultures. Visitors will be able to see how Friedrichs used this content to create merchandising from magazines, postcards, and posters, to engage audiences and monetise his work.

Neil McMinn, Head of Sales, Display Graphic Systems at Canon UK, comments: “This year’s Sign & Digital event provides us with an opportunity to highlight the sophisticated technologies set to expand printing horizons and efficacy over the next few years. Models such as the Arizona 1380 GT are helping to address common challenges that have capped printing output and new business scope; namely the need to increase productivity and media versatility. The show will allow PSPs to see these models in action, discover how to advance their print operations, and conquer the new business opportunities, which this technology brings to market.

"Meanwhile, the SPEED campaign will offer an inspiring window into what can be achieved with varied implementations of print; harnessing both the emotive resonance of large-scale real-life images and the intimacy of a book to capture audience imagination. We aim to inspire PSPs and help them assist their clients, both brand owners and agencies, to fuel emotion with print.”

The forward-looking initiative aligns with Canon’s fundamental goal of continuously developing advanced yet accessible solutions. Working models on stand will include the new Océ Arizona 1380 GT LED flatbed printer, the world’s first 64” UV gel roll-to-roll printer – the Océ Colorado 1640, as well as toner cut-sheet and large-format technology. Experts will be on hand to offer practical advice and show visitors the latest in workflow solutions and finishing equipment.

Neil McMinn concludes: “Canon works in partnership with its customers by generating technologies that enable them to realise their core business goals and optimise revenue. Events such as Sign & Digital UK are the perfect place to showcase the latest developments in print and give companies the understanding they need to succeed.”
