Bobst UK & Ireland appoint new Area Sales Manager for CI Flexo

New Bobst UK & Ireland appointment completes sales and technical service team for web-fed customers.

Bobst UK & Ireland has appointed Kearon Scarrott as its new Area Sales Manager for CI Flexo, as the company renews its focus on sales in the flexible packaging sector.

Joining BOBST in May, Kearon has responsibility for all sales and service contracts across the flexible packaging side of the business. The appointment means that the company now has a complete sales and technical service team for its web-fed business, delivering support to customers across narrow web & labels, gravure & lamination, and CI flexo (flexible packaging) throughout the UK & Ireland.

“I am really looking forward to getting out and meeting with customers across the country, understanding their needs and forging long-lasting relationships,” said Kearon. “It is great to be part of a world-leading supplier of substrate processing, printing and converting equipment and services for the label, flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated board industries, and I am excited to work with customers and explain how the combination of our sales force, service team and fantastic solutions can deliver for their businesses.”

Born in Durban, South Africa, but with roots in Yorkshire, Kearon returned to England with his family in 2018 and now lives in Milton Keynes. “I began my career in the industry working with a flexible printing plates manufacturer in South Africa, so am very familiar with CI flexo and flexible packaging,” he said.

“BOBST has been around for 125 years and is renowned for the professionalism of its team and the quality of the machinery. I am looking to build a career and so being a part of this exceptional team is a fantastic opportunity.”

Graham Dolan, Area Service Manager Bobst UK & Ireland, Flexible Packaging and Labels, said that the appointment of Kearon ensured there was an experienced sales and service specialist available for customers across each of the three web-fed applications. “This is a very important stage in our strategic plan for growth,” he explained. “Over the last seven years, we have focused on delivering support for our customers on the technical service side, ensuring we can support those existing customers in web-fed rather than looking to generate sales and then being unable to service them.

“The time is now right to close the loop on web-fed, which is why we have brought Kearon in to focus on new sales in this area. Kearon has many years of valuable experience, and we see him as the final piece that allows us to complete the web-fed puzzle, so to speak,” said Graham.

Previously responsible for the UK narrow web business for Gallus (Heidelberg), Kearon’s new role will also see him undertaking regular visits to the Bobst Bielefeld Competence Center, learning about retrofits and upgrades with a view to taking on more responsibility for technical service in the future. “Our focus is to build a robust web-fed team to support customers today and tomorrow,” added Graham. “It’s about getting the right people in post and providing them with the skills to ensure future success for BOBST and its customers.”
