ADAPT signs deal with Epson to supply SureColor printers in the UK

ADAPT to offer customers everything from demonstrations to training and installation services, as well as long term support and maintenance.

ADAPT, part of the Vink Group, has reached an agreement to supply seven models of the Epson SureColor printer range in the UK.

The country’s leading supplier of roll media, inks and wide-format machinery to the sign and display sector, ADAPT is now able to offer its customers Epson SureColor SC-S40600, SC-S60600, SC-S60600L, SC-S80600, SC-S80600L, SC-R5000 and SC-R5000L printers, as well as Epson OEM inks.

James Argent is the Hardware Sales Manager at ADAPT, having joined the company last year. He arrived already having had a longstanding relationship with Epson. “I’ve worked with Epson for around ten years,” he said, “In fact I’ve had a relationship with them ever since the original SureColor was launched.”

With this in mind, once James took up his new position at ADAPT – and with the company being such a major player in the signage market – this new arrangement was a logical step for all concerned.

“ADAPT already has contacts across the signage market,” says James “And that means we have lots of potential customers for the Epson SureColor printer range. For example, we run lots of vehicle wrapping courses at our training centre in Nottingham and offering this range is a natural progression for us.

“A lot of the customers who come on our courses are only just starting to explore the possibilities that print has to offer and the Epson portfolio is a great way for them to take those first steps.

“For Epson’s part, they are looking to broaden the range of partners they work with when it comes to signage and, given the large client base we can offer across the entire Vink group, it’s a perfect match.”

ADAPT, which operates facilities in both Manchester and Nottingham, will be offering customers everything from demonstrations to training and installation services, as well as long term support and maintenance.

ADAPT is very experienced in the large format print sector having longstanding relationships already in place with leading names from across the industry including the likes of Mactac, Kernow Coatings, Canon, HP, Mimaki and Summa. As such, the company is ideally positioned to work in partnership with Epson.

On the new business relationship, Phil McMullin, Head of Sales Commercial & Industrial Printing, Epson (UK) Ltd, comments: “We are excited to welcome ADAPT as our latest value-added partner for our signage printer range. With an excellent media proposition and true national coverage, the ADAPT organisation will bring award-winning Epson technology to an even wider customer base.

“We have also invited the ADAPT team to host prospects with us on our stand (Stand 40) at the Sign & Digital UK event to showcase our technology to interested parties. Customers will be able to see a demonstration of one of Epson’s most recent large-format printer introductions for the first time in the UK – the 64” SureColor SC-R5000 printer which uses odourless water-based resin ink in large ink pouches.”

ADAPT’s James Argent says he sees particular potential in this solution. He states: “While we envision the majority of our customers coming from the signage market – after all, that is our home turf – we believe that the Epson SureColor SC-R5000 will be of great interest to other sectors such as retail. This new model, which is Epson’s first signage printer to include a resin ink solution, was launched during the pandemic, so perhaps they haven’t really taken off as they might have done… yet.”

He concludes by stressing that the SureColor machines are all about quality and reliability. “They are tried and tested products. They deliver exactly what you need them to.”
